FIND YOUR PLACE!
At Christ Church Birmingham we believe that God has a spot for us, and we all need to find that spot. For us to be the Church God calls us to be, it is imperative that we are all serving as God has uniquely equipped us to serve. God has a spot that He has made you to fill, and we all need for everyone to find their spot. We encourage you to begin to pray now about that place that God has for you. It will be enriching for you, and a blessing for the whole church. And best of all, we can bear much Kingdom fruit, to the glory of God.
Children
We want Sundays to be the best day of the week for children in our Christ Kid’s Children’s Ministry! We gather on Sundays for high energy worship and Gospel-centered Bible stories to help our children know and understand who Jesus is, what He has done for them and how they can make a difference in the world. Each month is centered around a theme to make it fun and engaging for children of all ages to come to know a God who loves them. Small group leaders gather children from 2 years to 5th graders in their very own small group to unpack God’s story and how it can be applied in their everyday life.
In 2021, we want to reach out to share His love with our community by hosting our annual Easter Egg Hunt the last week of March. We have hunts for all ages, fun crafts and games to make it a day to remember! In June, we invite the children of our community to spend four days immersed in worship and teaching about Jesus in the fun-filled atmosphere of Vacation Bible School. Our crew leaders lovingly lead children through crafts, Bible Story rooms, games and more to make the experience of God’s Word come alive for them. We are looking forward to see what God does through the children of Christ Church in 2021!
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
Students
As a ministry, our mission is to be those who are rooted in Jesus Christ. (Colossians 2:6-7, Ephesians 3:14-19)
We seek to do this in many ways: personal time with Jesus, spiritual disciplines, small groups, weekend retreats, and weekly gatherings. Due to COVID-19, our plans have had to adapt. The good thing is that in adapting, we can and will continue to adhere to our five core values: partnering with parents, fostering community, nurturing mentoring relationships, pursuing servanthood, and becoming like Christ.
Here are some of the ways we will be living out our core values and mission:
- This January, we are beginning our Confirmation classes with our 8th grade students.
- We are seeking to safely begin regathering as a student ministry on Sunday afternoons. We will be walking through the Sermon on the Mount, learning how we are to live as citizens of the Kingdom of God.
- Our small groups will continue to meet throughout the spring and fall semesters.
- Our hope is that we might be able to begin offering weekend retreats once more for our students, which will provide us time for much-needed rest and a time of listening to what God might be saying to us.
If you would like to be involved with our student ministry, if you have questions about our ministry or what we are doing, or if you would like to know specific ways you can help or pray for us, please contact Michael at [email protected]
