Employment Opportunity: Missions Minister



Christ Church Birmingham is seeking our next full-time Missions Minister. The Missions Minister will lead in building and nurturing new and existing relationships with local and global mission partners and will organize our efforts to mobilize the people of Christ Church for local and global missions. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and vet local and global mission partners, alongside the Christ Church Missions Council, for partnership with Christ Church

  • Encourage and support local and global mission partners

  • Host both local and global mission partners at Christ Church

  • Communicate missions service opportunities

  • Develop content for mission training and mission partners specific projects

  • Develop, maintain and execute the budget for Christ Church Missions

  • Plan, organize, market, recruit, train and lead local and global mission trips with Christ Church teams

  • Recruit and train leaders for short-term mission trips

  • Plan, schedule, organize and coordinate annual Missions Conference at Christ Church

  • Equip and empower small group and Sunday school leaders (along with the Spiritual Formation Minister) to foster relationships in both local and global missions

The missions minister position is considered a ministerial role and is expected to perform functions that exercise and express the religious character and mission of Christ Church Birmingham. As part of this role, the missions minister will be required to adhere to Christ Church Birmingham’s statement of faith in lifestyle and conduct and will be expected to regularly engage in activities in which the employee’s belief in and adherence to Christ Church Birmingham’s statement of faith are an integral part.


Compensation commensurate with education and experience.
