What is the mission of the Methodist movement? The early Methodists answered that question this way: “to spread scriptural holiness across the land.” That was their conviction. That was their mission. That’s what they did. But the Methodist movement since then has not always kept that mission in focus. With the launch of the Global Methodist Church, an opportunity to recover the defining mission of Methodism has come. What does scripture say about holiness and mission? How did the early Methodists advance their mission? What does itl ook like to recover the defining mission of Methodism today?
