We’ve all been on the run from God’s grace at one time or another. For some, it may have been obvious. For others, it may not. Small expressions of resistance to God's grace are easy to miss. The fact is our resistance to God’s goodness can come in many forms. It can be clear and overt. Or it can be subtle and difficult to detect. In this upcoming sermon series, we’ll consider the story of Jonah and how he went on the run from God. Running from grace got him in some trouble, but the good news is that Jonah couldn’t outrun God’s love for him.The same is true for us.
No matter how far we run, we won't outrun God's love for us.
As we consider Jonah’s story, we’ll have the opportunity to consider our own stories. We’ll consider the ways our own hearts might be hesitant to embrace God’s purposes for us. We’ll look at what it means to offer ourselves to God unconditionally. We’ll consider the surprising and extensive range of God’s unfailing love, and we’ll discover that we can’t outrun grace.
